Inverted Reality

I just wanted to flesh out a bit more about myself as I am pursuing my passion for writing. Note, the key word here is pursuing. The often misguided impression is that I have already "caught" my passion, but the truth is, it's continually in a state of flux as I endeavour to see where it leads...or how I am being led by it.

Apart from writing, some of my other passions include reading, flying fake aircraft (see below) and tinkering with anything digital...both on and offline.

In times past - basically any time during the pre-fossilized era, I was a real-world Multi-Engine IFR rated Commercial Pilot. With that preamble, understandably one of my greatest passions is Aviation. In my current stage of life, I now engage in virtual flight procedures utilizing Flight Simulator software. Some of these digital flight adventures - or as it's referred to in one of our nations's principal languages: La Catastrophe du Le Jour - may occasionally be posted here.

Please note: there has been a significant passage of time since my youthful flying days, therefore I make no claim to the veracity, authenticity, accuracy or inherent integrity of any of the presented flight scenarios or procedures represented in any of my published aviation-related videos.

For the past 16 years, I have also been an avid motorcyclist. I started riding later in life (in my mid-40’s). And because I am allergic to all forms of pain - real or imagined - this late stage hobby gave time for unused testosterone to be flushed from my system, thereby allowing me to keep oxygen flowing in my lungs. By not succumbing to idiotic or hormonally-charged youthful two-wheeled misbehaviour, I am actually here to talk about it. There is however, a disadvantage in enaging in a riding lifestyle here in Canada; I am restricted by the seasonal weather prognosticators, who have allocated (barely) half of the calendar year for riding. Such is life when you live north of the 49th parallel.

With my most recent discovered passion for writing, I had the pleasure of publishing my first book in November 2022. It is a pseudo-biographical collection of  anecdotes which encompasses how I have navigated the ups and downs of various life transitions. That endeavour has now provided increased motivation to tell more stories - some more fictional in scope than my first manuscript, but still threaded with elements of real-world life scenarios.

And finally, but most importantly, all of my hopes, dreams and desires are all undergirded by my faith in God, without whom I would be of little consequence.
