On Approach to 2025
This year went by extremely fast. At least it did to me. All things considered, 2024 was a good year. There were challenges to contend with, but in retrospect I have learned to count my blessings. A primary goal I have for 2025 is to be more consistent with my writing. I'm still not sure why I decided to have concurrent manuscripts on the go, as it certainly doesn't lend itself to me being focused. I guess I just like the variety which is always accessible, depending on the mood that I am in.
Some of the simulated flight examples which are published on this site were created in the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 program. A few weeks ago Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was released. Unfortunately for some, it was a rocky start. There were bugs and issues with the program, given the new format it had adopted. For the most part, the majority of the program is streamed live over the Internet as opposed to having the bulk of the software installed directly onto your computer. This unsurprisingly caused consternation among flight simulator enthusiasts. In any case, for the time being anyway, I'll be sticking with the 2020 version as it seems to be stable enough for my needs right now. In time I may upgrade to the new one.
So with 2025 just a few days away, I am looking forward to getting lost in the stories and characters of the manuscripts which are bouncing around in my noggin. Whether that involves low level canyon runs in the Swiss Alps; chasing arms smugglers in isolated bush strips in the mountains of British Columbia and Alaska, or avoiding crucifixions and dodging Roman Soldiers in 1st century Judea, it should make for some interesting literary escapades.
For now may the remaining season of 2024 and your transition into 2025 be one of Peace Hope and anticipation.
